for: Transport Planner/Traffic Engineer
Association for Intelligent Transport System is a not-for-profit
organization, which represents a spectrum of members including industry,
government and academia with an aim to foster the development and
deployment of intelligent transport systems in India.
We are looking for
an experienced Transport Planner/Traffic Engineer to be an integral part
of our professional and forward focused Traffic and Transportation team.
Skills/Requirement
-
Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (A
Bachelor or Masters Degree in civil engineering, transportation
engineering or traffic and transportation planning).
-
At least three years demonstrable experience in
transportation engineering & planning and highways and traffic
planning and engineering detailed design.
-
Experience in general highways and traffic engineering
design and in design in urban environments.
-
Evidence of having delivered highways & traffic
engineering design elements to programme including drawings,
specifications and technical reports (English Language)
-
A clear appreciation and understanding of fundamental
highways / traffic engineering principles (to facilitate the change to
working on Indian technical standards)
-
Job would also require to support international expert
in transport planning to prepare a long-term investment program and
maintenance program and in identification of the equipment needs for
the transport sector, especially in the field of road safety and
control of overloading, in consultation.
Accountabilities
-
Traffic and
transportation studies
-
Liaison with
Stakeholders (including highways and traffic authorities) on traffic
and highway matters.

Developing mitigation
proposals that provide appropriate response to stakeholder concerns.

Technical reviews of
deign and traffic assessments prepared by the design and development
teams.
The
successful candidate will need to:

Be
highly self-motivated and ambitious.

Have a
track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within
highways and traffic engineering disciplines

Be able
to work with minimal supervision and understand / communicate with
Project Managers remotely

Be able
to adapt to different cultures and working environments

Be able
to build excellent working relationships with colleagues and clients.

Be
willing to relocate
